Bedford County (PA) Early Head Start Program Evaluation

Start Date: 2003

Funder: Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries

The Prevention Research Center is working collaboratively with the Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries of Bedford County to evaluate their Early Head Start Program. The evaluation involves longitudinal assessments of the participants of the home-based Early Head Start Program in order to provide the agency with information regarding outcomes over a period of four years. In addition, the level/extent of implementation of the program will also be documented to help the agency with program planning. Initial parent interviews will be conducted when the families enroll in the program. Two additional data points will be when children reach the age of 14 months and 36 months. Data on a wide range of family processes, parenting practices, parent-child relationship, and child outcomes (including language and socio-emotional outcomes) will be collected through parent interviews and child assessments. Sukhdeep Gill, Ph.D. is principal investigator; Celene Domitrovich, Ph.D. is Co-PI. For more information, contact Sukhdeep Gill, Ph.D.
