Jin-kyung Lee's research interests include children’s social-emotional development, parenting/fathering, and gene and environment(parenting) interaction in the context of family poverty. 

She received the Best New Professional Research Article Award in 2018 from the Men in Families Focus Group, National Council on Family Relations. She has presented her research at annual/biennial meetings of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), the Developmental Methods conference, the International Congress on Infant Studies (ICIS), and the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), using mediation and moderation in structural equation modeling, measurement invariance, and latent profile transition analysis. 

She earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, and her master’s degree in child and family studies from Seoul National University in South Korea, and her Ph.D. from the Ohio State University.
